Tellmi is pleased to announce that we have been funded, by the Government's Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI) to develop the Tellmi app for autistic children and young people.

In September 2022, Tellmi collaborated with the advertising agency Dentsu to produce their first ever billboard advertising campaign.

Tellmi is working with specialist eating disorders charity First Steps ED to provide early intervention and recovery support for young people aged 11 - 25.

Researchers at University College London and Cardiff University explored the factors that predict what helps, or hinders, successful transitions to secondary school. The findings from the STAR study inspired us to create the Tellmi ‘Starting Secondary School ‘ booklet, which was delivered to every year 7 student in our partner schools.

A independent evaluation of Tellmi which was conducted by by the Evidence Based Practice Unit in 2022, found statistically significant evidence that using the Tellmi app improves mental health in young people.

After a year of COVID chaos, UK schools were dealt another huge blow. In March 2021 the publication of fourteen thousand testimonies of sexual abuse and harassment on the Everyone’s Invited website triggered an immediate Ofsted investigation.

Innovate UK has given Tellmi a grant of £393,823 to integrate machine learning (ML) and natural language processing (NLP) into the Tellmi app to create a state of the art suicide prevention solution for children and young people (CYP) aged 11+.

Research suggests that boys self-harm in different ways to girls. Girls who self-harm are more likely to cut themselves, or to overdose (Young et al., 2007), whereas boys who self-harm are more likely to punch walls, drink heavily, take drugs, or control their eating (Nada-Raja et al., 2004).

On March 20th, the government announced that schools were being locked down in response to the COVID crisis. Suddenly, students who had been getting face to face counselling at school could no longer access support.
