Episode 9: Haneefa



In the latest episode of Tellmi About It, Suzi speaks to Haneefa. Haneefa was abused from five to ten years old and her life has been dominated by the trauma. With the support of her therapist, Haneefa reported everything to the police nine months ago.

Episode 8: Jayden



In this episode of Tellmi About It, Suzi speaks to Jayden about growing up with no support at home, or at school. Years of being bounced in and out of different services did nothing to help, but since coming out as trans, joining an LGBTQ+ support group and finding Tellmi, Jayden’s life has begun to turn around.

Episode 7: Mali



In this episode, Suzi speaks to Mali about his experience being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. He spoke about the mental challenges he had to confront when understanding how his diagnosis would impact his life, and how he’s learned to manage his condition and lead a happy and healthy life.

 

Episode 6: Amélie



In this episode, Suzi speaks to Amélie. During the COVID pandemic, Amélie’s mental health deteriorated and she spent fifteen months in a psychiatric unit. Amélie talks about the impact of the experience and her eventual road to recovery.

Episode 5: Kyle



In this episode, Suzi speaks to Kyle about his battle with anorexia. Kyle's parents went through a difficult divorce when he was a teenager, and at the same time, he was also getting bullied at school. The combination of the two led to feelings of anxiety and depression, which resulted in him using eating and exercise as a way of controlling his environment. Kyle speaks about the moment he reached crisis point, his long road to recovery, and how he changed his relationship with eating.

Episode 4: Freddie



Suzi speaks to Freddie about his experience growing up as gay, coming out, navigating his identity, and embracing his true self. If you find yourself facing similar challenges as Freddie, the Tellmi app is a great place to talk anonymously about issues concerning you.

Episode 3: Bella



Bella always had the feeling that she was different at school, but could never understand why. She opens up about her experience of being bullied, and the profound impact it had on her mental health. However, her story takes a positive turn when she was diagnosed with autism, which brought clarity to her struggles and set her on a path to recovery.

Episode 2: Thomas



Thomas had a tough childhood and struggled to see eye-to-eye with his family. He speaks about the failure of the people around him to understand his mental health stuggles, and how isolated this made him feel. However, it was through discovering the Tellmi app and talking to like-minded people that started him on his road to recovery.

Episode 1: Rona



Rona experienced a suicide in her friendship group at the age of 11, which caused a period of depression, anxiety and self-harm. She speaks about how her school made her feel isolated and alone, and how she turned to sites like Tumblr to try and find like-minded people. Finding other people who were going through similar things on the Tellmi app, helped her to stop self-harming.
